Ashley Waddell Tingstad is an Associate at Salvatore Prescott & Porter, PLLC. She is an experienced civil litigator and has represented both individuals and corporations in a wide variety of civil matters in both state and federal courts.
Prior to working at Salvatore Prescott & Porter, Ashley worked as a litigation associate at Hooper Hathaway in Ann Arbor and at Jenner & Block in Chicago, where she focused on complex commercial litigation, intellectual property disputes, and professional responsibility matters. Ashley also maintained an active pro bono practice, playing a key role in overturning a wrongful murder conviction and in representing a political asylum-seeker from Congo Brazzaville. Ashley began her legal career as a Skadden fellow at the Legal Aid Society of D.C., where she helped start the organization’s consumer law court-based legal services project, establishing a respected and reliable presence in two courtrooms and the court-based mediation office. During her two year fellowship, she represented over 175 indigent defendants in debt collection matters. Prior to law school, Ashley taught English in southern France and bilingual preschool and fourth grades in Houston with Teach for America.
Ashley graduated magna cum laude from the Georgetown University Law School, where she served as Managing Editor of the Georgetown Journal of International Law. She earned a bachelor of arts, with high distinction, in Comparative Literature and International Studies from the Honors College at Penn State. Ashley speaks fluent Spanish and French.

Ashley is a member of the District of Columbia, Illinois, and Michigan bars. She is also admitted to practice in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
